Larch
As part of its commitment to durability and good practices, Tectona decided to expand its repertoire to larch, a conifer native to temperate regions of the Northern hemisphere, not at risk of extinction and offering characteristics comparable to those of teak. Its wood is particularly resistant, rot-proof and extremely dense. Traditionally it has been used in mountainous areas for building chalets and for furniture.
A durable and resistant wood !
The Soleil collection, designed by Martin Szekely, is made of larch, and therefore heralds the arrival of this material in the Tectona workshop. Larch is rot-proof and its resinous nature allows it to withstand fungi, insects and humidity. Its slow growth rate confers durability and resistance comparable to those of teak.
Larch wood is a rot-proof wood suited to the outdoors and resistant including to humidity.
Our maintenance tips
It does not require any treatment and so may be left as is.
To maintain the original appearance: spray a water-based UV protector, once or twice a year; or use a degreasing agent to restore the larch wood’s natural colour.
