Collection
Soleil
Soleil, the first collection in larch wood, is the outcome of the collaboration between Tectona and Martin Szekely, an internationally renowned creator of objects and furniture and also a practicing cabinetmaker. Here, old-world woodworking techniques are combined with computer numerical control, enabling absolute precision in the assembly of furniture parts.
An haute couture creation designed by Martin Szekely
“An haute couture creation that called on the talents of experienced and knowledgeable people and was designed to be durable. This project allowed me to feel invigorated once again by the trade I learnt in cabinetmaking workshops when I was a young man. The etymology of menuiserie is ‘small jobs’ or ‘pieces made from delicate wood’; these painstakingly fabricated pieces blend into our environments to delight our senses and our bodies while on holiday. Soleil!” Martin Szekely, August 2022
Larche wood, when durability matters
As part of its commitment to durability and good practices, Tectona decided to expand its repertoire to larch, a conifer native to temperate regions of the Northern hemisphere, not at risk of extinction and offering characteristics comparable to those of teak. Its wood is particularly resistant, rotproof and extremely dense. Traditionally it has been used in mountainous areas for building chalets and for furniture.
